A great thing to do is to make sure you remember to pass on your gone but not forgotten family members' life stories to your children. Even as young it is good to take your children to visit past family members or memorials for members of your family who have served. A week before my son's second birthday we went to Arlington for him to meet his great-grandfather and as we drove down I explained as simple what we were doing. My son and I were the only ones visiting a family member besides those who were attending funerals. However, the amount of people visiting was enormous and even if you may not have a military family member it is good to teach our younger generations about the sacrifices of past Americans.

Wonderful idea for a child's birthday

A wonderful way to celebrate your child's birthday is by finding special deals on their special day! My son's birthday happens to fall on the same day as 7-11's Free Slurpee Day!! This is exciting and I am more than certain he will be anticipating that moment every year. This is us after getting his special slurpee this year for his birthday. I even let him choose the color, slightly. He had pointed to the brown, which is coke and I explained a different one would be better. So he then chose the red, which is cherry. Needless to say always dress them in dark clothing while letting them enjoy in the simple pleasures of sugary ice treats.

The Great Frederick Fair

My son and I always find activities that we can do together. Here we are riding a train for toddlers and young children at the fair together. Between the tickets (for three rides each and entrance fee) we only spent twenty dollars and had hours of fun! he even got to meet a sheep for the first time in his life.

Parents go Play!

Parents need to play just as much as children! If you are active with your kids they will be active too! Take your kids to the park or have a light saber battle with them! Play flash light tag, or go for a hike. Children are curious of the world outside, help them grow, learn, and be healthy. Childhood obesity in our country is a very serious issue and can lead to heart disease!!! Don't stand on the side lines, take your child out and play with them, bonding is an important factor in a child's young life. When they become teenagers hopefully the bond you create now will stick.

Toddler Boy Room Idea!!

 

I always believe children (after a year old) should have very interesting abstract and colorful rooms. This idea took me a while to create but I simply loved it for my son's room! It would have been nice to add some orange or brighter colors, but this is a perfect color swatch for any boys room.
To make the paint "drip" dab the bottom half of an inch of the brush evenly into your paint can, do not dab it off! and press it against the wall. Make sure to put paper or a cloth on the floor and you can use painters tape to have an even line across the wall.
